meet nurul

Decked out in a sheer printed top, complete with black knee-high heeled leather boots, my girl cruised the streets of Manchester, all flowy and free-spirited. With a boyish cap and sporty bag as accessories, her contrasting styles get my thumbs-up!

taylored to suit

I love Taylor Momsen's off-screen attitude in her style, the clashes that somewhat match, with a perfect crown to top it off.

Glam meets punk

Sleek and sharp

Three-quartered sleeves never looked cooler

Rocker chic

Worked that tee

Ragged, ain't jaded

blake lovely

These gorgeous pictures of Blake Lively were featured in Vanity Fair during spring/summer 2008 Fashion Week in Paris.

All doll-like with layered tutu skirts

A touch of masculinity

the closets

I saw this new Heinekien TV advertisement last night even though I was told it was aired in Singapore sometime back, and I couldn't help it but laughed out loud, what creativity! Somehow, I believe the idea stems from Sex and the City, the overwhelming excitement from the boys upon seeing a closet full of their beloved green bottles mirrors that of Carrie's expression when Big finally revealed that amazing, huge walk-in closet to her, only much more exaggerated. Note: Wide-opened mouths are essential in such cases.

bizarre affairs

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I didn't really know what this film was about, save for the fact that it touches on some kind of love story set in the beautiful Barcelona. And boy, what a love story it was!

It is so weird that Penélope Cruz and Scarlette Johansson were in a triangle relationship with Cruz's Spanish ex-husband played by Javier Bardem. It was a 3-human love relationship which they all enjoyed being in while living together under the same roof. Cruz and señor could only be balanced and at peace if Johansson was with them. They loved each other, but they just cannot be with each other and Cruz went nuts when Johansson said she was moving out. It's quite unbelievable, but I thought Cruz looked the part and did really well as a temperamental, mood-swinging Spanish lady. She really deserves winning the Best Supporting Female for the Academy Awards.

I didn't expect to see a similar bizarre scene in Gossip Girl. Blair's dad came home for Christmas, with his boyfriend. Both of them stayed under his ex-wife's roof and spent Christmas together, in peace. This brings a whole new meaning to living together in harmony.

it's all in the lyrics

Since I've discovered that I've missed Brian McKnight's performance when he was in town last week, I've been listening to his songs these past few days to compensate for what I've missed.

Probably not all, but some of his best known hits like Back at One, 6, 8, 12 and Whenever You Call with Mariah Carey. I love One Last Cry too, and Still. (From his self-titled debut album - 1992 and Superhero - 2001)

I'm itching to buy his old albums now. I love his vocals, kind of hoarse but sexy, and when he sings, I can feel a chill running down my spine.

I absolutely love the lyrics to Back at One and 6, 8, 12.

Back at One

One... you're like a dream come true
Two... just wanna be with you
Three... girl it's plain to see
That you're the only one for me
And four... repeat steps one through three
Five... make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done
Then I start back at one

It's so sweet, the cycle just goes on and it doesn't stop. Just keeps going back to one.

6, 8, 12

Do you ever think about me
Do you ever cry yourself to sleep
In the middle of the night when you awake
Are you calling out for me
Do you ever reminisce

I can't believe I'm acting like this
I know it's crazy
How I still can feel your kiss

It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours since you went away
I miss you so much
And I don't know what to say
I should be over you I should know better
But it's just not the case
It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours since you went away
Do you ever ask about me
Do your friends still tell you what to do
Everytime the phone rings
Do you wish it was me callin' you
Do you still feel the same
Or has time put out the flame
I miss you
Is everything ok

It's hard enough just passing the time
When I can't seem to get you off my mind
And where is the good in goodbye
Tell me why, tell me why
